FAQ

Q.1. What is the admission criterion for ITI?

Admissions are granted strictly on the basis of merit. A merit list is prepared according to the prescribed minimum educational qualification, and seats are allotted only as per merit.

Q.2. Does it matter whether I study in a Government ITI or a Private ITI?

No. Both Government and Private ITIs provide the same training under the Craftsmen Training Scheme. After completing the course, every trainee must appear for the All India Trade Test of Craftsmen (AITT). Successful candidates are awarded the National Trade Certificate (NTC), which is the same for both Government and Private ITIs.

Q.3. Are students from Private ITIs eligible for Government jobs?

Yes. Both Government and Private ITIs are affiliated with NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training), Government of India. The National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT is recognized across India and abroad, making trainees eligible for both government and private sector jobs.

Q.4. Is there any provision for part-time ITI courses?

No. Currently, ITI courses are available only in full-time, regular mode.

Q.5. What is the age limit for admission to ITI?
